After just under 3 days at sea, and 523 miles, we have arrived in Guernsey. It is strangely pleasant to be back in familiar waters, and we had to brush up on our tidal height and flow calculations. We obviously managed to get them right since we were able to ride with a 4 knot tide from Ouessant for over 7 hours last night, seeing speed over ground exceeding 12 knots for a while, and arriving in St. Peter Port with enough tidal height to get over the sill into the marina.
We happened to arrive the day of the annual harbour carnival, an event which involves rubber duck races, fireworks and any excuse to jump into the marina and get wet. Great fun to watch!

We are looking forward to catching up on some sleep, and resting before making our final homeward journey.
