Title: Figuera da Foz, Saturday 24th July; 040.08N, 008.52W

Yesterday we were sorry to say goodbye to David & Helen, who have been excellent crew since leaving home, and stalwarts in the heavy weather in Biscay. We all travelled to Porto Airport from Povoa da Varzim by Metro, an easy and straighforward journey, where we said goodbye to them.
This morning we had an early start for the 78 mile journey to Figuera da Foz. We were concerned that the wind would blow up again in the afternoon, and were prepared for a tough sail. However it stsrted light, and downwind, so we were goosewinged. The wind then backed, and was only about 13 knots so we flew the gennaker for a while, but then the wind shifted and dropped so we ended up motorsailing for the latter part of the trip.
We are looking forward to a well earned rest, then off to to Nazare tomorrow, weather permitting, just a short 35 mile hop southwards.
