The trouble with this sort of trip is that you become accustomed to beautiful anchorages and expectations get higher and higher! Having spent a week in the BVI’s , we were delighted to find Cooper Island, a small island to the south of the archipelago. This has all the ingredients of a wonderful anchorage. Clear water, palm fringed beach and golden sand. However, it is consequently extremely popular and there are so many moorings laid that there is no room to anchor. So we picked up a buoy and spent a couple of days here. The snorkelling was even better than on Anegada . We saw many varieties of fish that we had not seen before.

 

 

 

We touched up the varnish, gave the waterline a bit of a clean and enjoyed the spectacular views over the Sir Francis Drake Channel. The wildlife has been great as there are many tiny fish which act as food for predators like tarpon, barracuda and laughing gulls. Avril was sure that the huge barracuda that swam slowly by as she was swimming had his eye on something rather larger.....
