Over the deep of the blue ocean at last, well off of soundings, the steady ocean swell is being kind to us.
Again we observed the spectacular lightening display over the coastal waters of North Carolina last night, but we were far enough out, not to be affected. Unfortunately this appeared to have the effect of the wind being drawn into the thunderstorm, leaving us becalmed. So it was on with the engine for about 10 hours, charging our batteries, all our devises and making water. The wind picked up again at lunchtime with the arrival of white, fluffy, trade wind clouds enabling us to sail at 5+ knots in a light SW breeze.
Tonight is fish and chips with the Mahi-Mahi we caught on the way from Jamaica and a cold Panamanian beer (balboa) to cool us down after yet another hot day.
