After a bumpy but speedy downwind passage, a localised trough created Southerly winds, which resulted in us taking a sharp left to our first Californian port of Crescent City.
We crossed the off shore fog bank to find a pleasant and calm anchorage in a well protected harbour, in sunshine and full of wildlife. Huge pelicans and at least a dozen other species of seabirds, some porpoises and a honking colony of seals to mention just our first, very pleasant impression.

How well we slept last night, appreciating the stillness after 3 days of being tossed around and not seeing the Oregon coast.

We were able to reactivate our US phone, which makes communication much easier at last and are now ready to explore the shore.
