At midnight we dropped the sails and slowly motored towards the Bay of Virgins. The full moon gave good visibility and we found two other yachts anchored here. We anchored in 20 metres depth, as we did not want to be too close to the other yachts on one side and the high cliffs on the other.

It took us 5 days and 9 hours in light winds from Fakarava to here and this is as far East we will be going this year.

Today we went ashore and were very sad to find out that Hita, the woodcarver died of a heart failure in 2012 at the age of 37 and a lot has changed for the family since then. We gave the fish to his mother Madelaine and caught up on the news.
We remember a vibrant man, a passionate artist, a generous and kind soul, so glad we appreciated our time together in May/June 2012.
