Our last port of call before heading off to Lisbon is Praia da Vitoria on Terceira. We arrived on Wed. 22nd at 20.45 UTC and were welcomed by very kind South African Sailors, Mike and Mark who had made their way to the Azores from Venezuela! They invited us on their cat for a drink and we met Josie, 23, from Venezuela, who was taken along as crew and said how much her life had changed with this ocean passage. The best thing that happened to her! Another invitation for us to spread our wings!

The next day we tried to fuel up for our ocean passage and found out that there was still no fuel pontoon, so a new adventure was ahead:

Off for a 10-15 min walk through town to the petrol station!

See Kahia in the background?

Lovely beach but no time for a swim!

At the station, the owner of the Bar “Sunrise” gave us a lift back to the Marina, a godsent!

After Lunch a second trip into town for our last provisions, this time we met Eric, from the American Base here, at the supermarket and he helped getting our stuff all the way to the key! Human kindness is a priceless gift!

  Last heaving of diesel canister!

By the time Kahia was ready, the wind had died and the forcast showed another windless day ahead. So we changed plans, didn’t leave and went to a beach instead!

The plan is to leave on Saturday! ...
