> The sail back from the Loyalty Islands is against the prevailing Southeastly winds and we need a favourable window with a good Easterly forecast, which was E 10-15 knots going ENE in the South.
> Our journey started with ESE 20 knots and Kahia was flying at average 7 knots towards the mainland. Just close to having to tack the wind turned ENE to our favour 15 knots, enabling us to sail Southward along the coast without having to tack.
> At dusk we caught a large tuna, about 30 Ibs, which unfortunately jumped the hook as we tried to land him aboard.
> 15 hours into the trip, at 03:30, we approached Havana Pass with the flood tide and carried the last of the current through to Prony Bay with a lovely sunrise, calm water and a beautiful morning chorus of a rich variety of birds.
> After a good rest, we are now preparing to explore the North of the bay in search of waterfalls and hot springs.
