We arrived here on the 2nd Feb evening.

The next day we took a bus to the capital Willemstad to clear in. Customs was easy, as it was in the middle of the town but Immigration was a real trail across the river to a very obscure place at the ship docks.

Paul with our security pass to get through: The green gate way behind him leads to another part of the port, where the Immigration office is.

Considering that we are anchored in a totally different bay, came by bus, walked over ½ hour to get there, we decided to clear in and out for the next day, not to have to come back to the capital and repeat this upheaval.

We enjoyed Willemstad and arrived in Spanish Waters just in time for Happy Hour at the Fisherman’s Wharf, where our dinghy was moored.

Here we met a really friendly and welcoming Dutch sailing community. Water, shopping, Wifi...all the important information a sailor needs to know, was passed on.

The next day we took the free shuttle bus to the big supermarket and stocked up. How convenient to be driven back to the dinghy loaded with food for months... we motored back to Kahia into the wind and got totally drenched, so did all our food in the bags... It took the afternoon to wash the salt off, dry packets out and cook the pasta that was now wet...Barbara came along with her water boat and filled our tanks with water. A great service, though pricy...

We decided to stay to meet up with Jon and Susanna.

It was so good to catch up with such young, vibrant and adventurers sailors.

They sailed in Venezuela and are off to Colombia before transiting Panama. We hope to meet again, somewhere in the Pacific.
