It is with great pleasure that we are leaving the papagayo winds behind. Papagallo means parrot in Spanish and apparently parrots fell from the sky, having been ripped off by the violent air flow and dropped in the sea miles from their rainforest homes and this is how the name was given to the gulf and weather phenomenon.
Well we have not seen any parrots but a blue beaked booby perched itself on our first spreader in total harmony with our mainsail. We enjoyed the visit until it’s dropping became a hazard and we had to shoo it off its perfect resting place.
Now we are motoring along the coast in a calm sea hoping to catch a bit of a local breeze, adapting ourselves from one extreme to the other!
