The first time we came here was by land on Paul’s Birthday and we loved the setting, so we sailed over a few days later, to have a break from Savusavu, while waiting for our generator parts to arrive.

We came here a third time, after having picked up our parts and before moving on Eastwards. Paul cleaned the bottom of Kahia, as we were able to recharge the cylinder at the Dive Centre.

The dive centre is very well set up with lots of reference books on Jacques Cousteau and book of his son’s Jean Michel Cousteau. A trip down memory lane for Paul.

We also met Don Santee, who had just arrived from the States. He has been working with Jacques C for well over 30 years. Many of you might remember some of Don’s amazing under water photos.

Paul was close to go out diving with them to Namena Island the next day, but unfortunately the wind picked up and they did not go out that day.

We had to move on to a more sheltered anchorage for the weather that was shaping up for the following week, so on Saturday 13th July we sailed to Viani Bay on the East coast of Vanua Levu.
