What a difference a day makes, after the heavy weather we sailed the last 20 hours in perfect conditions. Easy sea and a steady 15 knots of wind on the starboard beam. The watches were relaxed and off watches were undisturbed. At last the night air is cooler and more refreshing. We managed to cover 165 miles.

Having lost 3 lures so far and heavy 100 pound breaking strength line, the fish (probably tuna) are far too large and powerful for us. We would appreciate a smaller size, but that order was not taken up by Neptune!

A large depression in the North West Pacific is starting to affect us by producing a swell of about 4 meters. When on the top of the crest our horizon extends dramatically and we enjoy the vista; also handy to look out for any other vessels, so far two ships have passed near by.
