Life on board has become more lively. With 10 to 13 knots of Westerly Winds we are cruising along between 5 and 6 knots. Fantastic to get going again, mainly  because we look forward to meeting lots of family as soon as possible.

We expect the wind to go up to 15 knots which is greatly appreciated.

Yesterday was a relaxing day filled with catch up sleep, deep reaching reflections we shared with each other at our mealtimes, sunbathing and the most enjoyable shower at the end of the day. We barely touched the sails, letting Kahia glide slowly through the flat sea. We also motored for 6 hours to make water, fill the batteries, charge computers etc and speed a little.

After calculations and speculations we realised that we must have been 100 litres short of diesel on our aft tank, due to the fuel set up in Praia da Vitoria (see Thursday 23rd July) and we did not fill up our back up canister either. The gauge on the tank are just a guideline, although it showed full, the tank was not filled to the top, which is so easily  done when using a hose at a fuel pontoon... Having learned the lesson we checked on the Marina we are heading to and found out that in Oeiras is no fuel pontoon either! What a joke. We will have to go into Cascais to fuel up before going into Oeiras Marina. That’s our plan but at sea plans can get easily challenged! So let’s see.

Just 200 Miles to go, Hurray!
