Life on Kahia is very busy. We caught 2 good sized tuna, which will last us for the week.
The constant Northeasterly wind is rather frustrating. Tacking as close to the wind as possible (40 to 60 degrees), we are crabbing slowly towards our destination. We were very tempted to take a better angle, which would lead us between islands and atolls in the deep of night, but we tacked away again, following the motto: 'Better safe, than sorry'. The other alternative was to run off the wind and check into the capital Suva today. The idea of arriving in a city and shipping port was not very appealing, so we are persevering and keep bashing windward into the 15 to 20 Kts NE wind, adding a few bruises to our bodies, as with the heat we have no more extra padding against the wood and steel of the boat.
Luxury now is to have cold showers mornings and evenings to help cool off.
All night (daytime in Europe!) we had electrical discharge (lightening) around us. Not knowing if we were up for an electrical storm, all our electronic gear was stored in the oven for protection, hence no tool to update the blog.

192 hrs (8 days) log: 1045 nm, we have not calculated the extra mileages of our tacks yet.

We are not able to check into port in the evenings, unless for some great surcharge, so we will have another night at sea (the Koro Sea) and plan to check into Savusavu tomorrow morning (Wed night in Europe). Only 92 nm to go.
