Day 3

It's getting warmer! We have been barefoot during the day, which is a true joy. The sea is moderating and we are glad to have a gentler sail compared to yesterday. Last night our thermal cooker got tossed in the air by a wave with the content of a delicious veggie and bacon stir fry, which we had to scrape off the floor and companion way. Lucky we already had one small helping before the accident...so another project will be to repair the hinge of the outer pot and find a better securing system for our passages.

Good to hear our replacement solar panels have arrived, cheers Mark!!! The next quest will be to get them from Kent to Kahia!
Anyone reading this blog flying out from England to Fiji or having crew fly out in the next 4 months or coming? Australia is another alternative, as we are heading there later in the year. The panels are very light and flat, as they are semi-flex to fit on the coach roof...

72 hour log: covered 450 nm so far, very encouraging!

Day 4

We had difficulties with our e-mail connection on iridium, so no weather and no positioning on the blog yesterday.
Hope this problem is solved now.
Thanks to the 'Drifters Net' via the SSB radio, we were able to get a weather update and also give our position, which we do every morning, so there are enough people this side of the planet, who know what we are up to out in the Blue.
After 14 hours of motoring, we are now enjoying a gentle sail in a calm sea, what bliss! Our SOG (Speed over the ground) is 4 knots, so we will not cover a huge distance but in these conditions we are not complaining. We are expecting to pick up the stronger Southeast Trade Winds as we sail further North.

96 hour log: covered 569 nm
