How exciting to approach New Zealand! After a good day
sailing, the wind is now from the SW and dropping. It is raining and we are back
to wearing the full wet weather gear. Good old faithful jumpers, long trousers
and socks are out of the lockers to keep us warm and it feels like the familiar
British climate!
The heating unit has stopped working, so this
will need to be one of the first jobs to be done as soon as we are
through customs.
Meanwhile we are feasting on our fresh fruit and veg
before quarantine takes the rest. Going through all the lockers to sort out
what is prohibited or restricted to enter the country gives Kahia a spring
clean and inventory at the same time... a job we would have avoided if we
had the choice...
It's hard to believe that somewhere that was once so far
away, now lies just over the horizon.
