The sail on Wednesday 8th February to Aruba was easy and pleasant. We had to tie up at the customs key to clear in before heading to the next bay to anchor off, far easier than Curacao. But to clear out we have to sail against the wind, not allowed to come along by land... (Those who set up these laws are definitely no sailors...)

The next day we went to Renaissance Marina, where we can use the resort’s facilities and live in a little extra luxury. On our first day here we met Mirtho (the fisherman/captain with the hat next to Paul).

He gave us some delicious Wahoo and tuna to feed us for 3 days...

Yesterday he gave Paul some fishing lessons and rigged up some great lures for our onward journey. It was a real pleasure meeting such a generous and kind man.

We have been very busy doing jobs aboard, washing the boat down, get machine loads of laundry done, plus another huge supermarket stock up that should last for a long time...

after two days we are now ready to go for a swim and relax on a sun lounge at last...

And then there are iguanas, crossing us on our path. Amazing!
