The position at 16:15 UTC gives us 979 NM to go! We did 1142 NM in one week and are really excited as our hopes are up to be in Antigua for Christmas.
All people on the group-photo in Sao Antonio are now crossing the Atlantic and it is good to hear familiar voices on the SSB radio. Unfortunately Egret, who we first wanted to leave with, if we had not been delayed, have a problem with their rudder and for many days are struggling making their way at 2 to 3 kts SOG , which is less then half of our speed. Several boats have dropped by to give support and extra fuel, which shows how effective an SBB net is, where everybody is also able to discuss sailing issues and weather after the Roll Call. Our jobs list is growing. We have to get the SSB transmitting sorted and the generator, which is not charging the batteries lately. We will not bore you with the rest of the list.
Unfortunately we lost our solar shower bag over board, it snapped off the rope... what a pity, it was such a good alternative to our boat shower.
To be honest, it is so hot, that we rather have cold showers to cool off.

The fish last night was a delight. We had a feast with boiled fresh red cabbage and potato puree to celebrate our Mid-Atlantic arrival.
Today is baking day. The bread is just rising and a nut roast will give us something different to chew on tonight.

We are glad we are still sailing, as we thought the wind would die down today and force us to motor, but here we are still letting the Hydrovane steer us to our destination.

Thank you Sabine for your texts, they are cut off at the end, remember 160 characters only for SMS, but you can send two or more in a row if the message is longer! Russ you are a star, shining on us with your texts, weather support and updates.
It is hard to get our heads around England being wrapped in cold and seeing the first snow. So keep well warm and cosy everybody back home.
