Yesterday evening just before nightfall we spotted white sails at the horizon to the Starboard quarter and were soon after called by Streetcar on the VHF radio. They have sailed from the Canaries, have a 3 year old daughter on board. It was great talking to another yacht (53 feet) and comparing weather information. They are also on their way to the Pacific via the Caribbean and we will probably meet somewhere sometime...
The last couple of days we picked up a handful of flying fish each day and are glad they are not as many. It would be enough for a meal but we are not there yet, maybe when we get low on food they look more appetizing...
We had a big sea running with majestic waves lifting us up and down all night. The sea is moderating a little this afternoon and we are happily going about our simple joys of life: reading in the sunshine, cooking, eating, clearing up, sleeping and appreciating our harmonious team work on board Kahia. We spend many hours alone, while the other sleeps and have a lot of time to reflect on our lives. Then we enjoy our meals together where we have deep running conversations as well as some good laughs.
