Day 5

Kahia
Paul and Catherine Davis
Wed 23 Nov 2011 14:23
Kahia is flying over the waves and so are the occasional knifes, forks and food bits escaping out of our control. The force 5 has turned into a good force 6 with up to 25 knots of wind and 3 meter waves. Paul keeps saying it is going down but has been like this since the early hours of today. Lively sailing and we are well adapted to it now. The sun is out, it is boiling under the spray hood and 30 C below decks, unfortunately it is too rough to open any hatches  other than the main hatch, again no sunbathing condition.
We slowed down the boat speed by shortening sail as we want to enter Baia de Palmeira in daylight, this is to Paul's great frustration as he loves going fast. We are still doing 6 to 7 kts SOG and will have to hove-to tonight somewhere off the island.
