We had to leave the Marina Porto Santo yesterday after-noon, so we anchored in the bay, had supper and a little sleep, waiting for the wind to come up. It took some effort to get out of bed, but we managed to hoist the sails at midnight and within 1/2 hour the wind rose to 16-18 knots. All night we had SW Winds Force 5/6 with gusts of 7 and all day we had Force 5 gusting 6 with big waves. It has been extreme sailing again, making moving about very difficult, hence the delay to put our position in today. We just had supper and the wind has turned west to Force 4/5, making life easier. We look forward to a nice dinner in Tenerife Friday evening. Still, a day like this does not put us off sailing and knowing that better winds are on their way is very reassuring.
