An early start to continue our journey north out of the hurricane zone. We are aiming for Brunswick in Georgia where we can leave the boat whilst we return to the UK at the end of the month. The weather is supposed to get stormy over the next few days so we planned to reach Fort Pierce before it started. The morning was sunny and calm though, punctuated by many sightings of large turtles that seemed to be snoozing on the surface or flirting in pairs. At this time of year, the endless sandy beaches on this part of the coast are nesting sites for green and loggerheads which is why they are here.

We also rescued a small dinghy fender and got buzzed by this weird flying sea dinghy. We thought he came too low and close but he obviously wanted a photo too!

Arrived in Fort Pierce just before the wind picked up and the rain began. Dolphins here too but the photographs are not quite so good.

My brother and his family surprised me when we were here last but not this time sadly. We also passed the marina this time and went further into the harbour to the anchorage protected a little behind this little island.
