17 Dec – On passage
One of the riggers came to check all is well now we are back in the water although Nick had to go and find time as the yard seems to be ignoring us completely now. I wonder how long we could stay at this dock before they told us to go!
We finally left at 12.00 heading south again. There are not many places that you can stop on the east coast of Florida so we have to sail overnight to get to the next place. Most boats travel down the ICW (Intra-Coastal Waterway). A network of canals, inlets, bays and rivers that runs the length of the Eastern Seaboard from Norfolk, Virginia at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay all the way to the Florida Keys. 1090 miles! Sadly there are many fixed height bridges all at 65ft or lower. Not much us for us as our mast is 72ft.
We were greeted by these very blurry dolphin!
