Today's plan was to circumnavigate the island. We left Pulpit Harbour and passed close to Pulpit Rock and its residents Osprey. Very exciting for Claude as her impression shows. They are very rare in the UK and 'Twitchers' queue for hours to get within 200m of a nest, usually protected by the RSPB. We headed north and sailed past Sabine Farm, the building not easily visible in the treeline, but their beach is.
We arrived at Eagle Island with enough time to go ashore and explore. Claude, Benj and Jethro swam to shore. Water temp about 60F - they are mad. Nick and I had to stay on the boat just in case the mooring we picked up wasn't up to our 15 tons. The shore party went for a walk to the old schoolhouse that although closed to puplils since the 1950s, is still hosting occasional concerts! There was one today - a performance of a Beethoven Sonata - reservations only. This on an island with no permanent residents anymore and a very small summer population.
Then lunch with friends and fizz.
