We finally left Rodney Bay, St Lucia yesterday morning! First photo
shows the palm tree I have been sitting under to Skype folk over the
past few weeks. The building is the Marina Office and Customs and
Immigration.
Photo of Nick taking down St Lucia courtesy flag and putting up
Martinique one (French) and a yellow ‘quarantine’ flag to show we need
to clear customs and immigration.
The trip to Le Marin in Martinique was 25 miles and took 5 hours
although we did motor sail to get here a bit quicker. Sailing into the
wind in big Atlantic seas so a bit bumpy but no vomiting! First time I
have been offshore sailing so Nick wanted to make sure we got here in
good time to park in the light! Very sensible as it turns out there
are hundreds of boats here and took us a while to find a space. No
moorings available so we are anchored off - photo of me steering is as
we were entering the bay; the resorts in the background are in the
pretty bit, the marina itself is big and built up. Plan today is to
clear customs and check out chandlery as there is a big Lagoon
dealership here so may be able to get some replacement parts.
Something diabolical happened between Max and the glass door of the
oven!
