Quite a gentle day to recover from jetlag, beginning with an early start to photograph a beautiful sunrise.
Nick took the hire car
back whilst Claude and Benj explored the park and Max repaired a small leak in
our inflatable canoe known affectionately as Hudson. When everyone returned
they went off to look at the mangroves that surround the lagoon.
After lunch we all went for a snorkel into the mangroves.
Visibility wasn’t great but we did see many weird upside down jellyfish lurking
on the bottom and a fair sized nurse shark. It was also interesting to see the
mangroves from beneath the water. We also encountered a ‘thermocline’, the water temperature dropped considerably in
a deeper channel where Max saw a large sting ray.
