We woke up to discover this motel is even more ridiculous than it appeared last night, the photos say it all.

Continuing the drive south we had more problems with the flooding. I95 had been closed and with the suggested motorway detour adding 200 miles to the trip, we decided to head off into the country.  It probably took us the same amount of time as we were stopped by floods at most of our attempts and the photos don’t really show how fast this water was moving

Eventually wefound a road that turned into a dirt track that we could get through on, via fields of cotton.

After an 1150 miles drive we finally arrived in St Simons Island, Georgia at about 17.00. The daylight lasted long enough for us to have a quick check of the boat which has fared well in the heat and humidity of a Georgia summer. No real mold problem - which was my biggest concern.

Then the sunset.
