Today we met Bici (and Keeper and Ivy) for a walk on the ‘Big Beach’ and then on ‘Boy Scout Beach’ at the north end of the island.

On the way we passed by ‘Antique Autos’ – open Mondays 6pm to 8pm! Also the plumbers house complete with 2 toilets marking the entrance, resplendent as geranium pots.

Finally, a trip to the ‘North Island Museum’.  This is a lobsterman’s house from the early 20th century. It was built and lived in by a couple in their 90s who now live next door. He was a collector of everything to do with the island and the museum now contains the grocery store and post office as well as the house, barn contents and a selection of fishing and lobster boats.

The pharmacy section was particularly interesting. They gave their teething babies laudenam and  the subsequent ‘terrible twos’  from withdrawal!

Returning to the boat via the store we were given a free sample of Cappucino crisps. Do not be tempted – they are disgusting!
