We had a final leisurely breakfast with Max before taking him to the airport. It seems like much more than 18 days since we drove here from St Augustine to collect him. Sad to see him go but he plans to be back around Easter as do Claude and Benj too I hope.  

I also hope we will have left Florida by then and be somewhere in the western Caribbean – Belize perhaps.  Claude and Benj are going to pick him up on their way to our Christmas family day, in Buckingham this year.

Whilst Max and I went to the Keys, Nick found another 5HP outboard on Craigslist (classifieds) so we drove to look at it and then bought it! No more rowing. We then decided to drive to Miami Beach as Ella had particularly enjoyed it there. I had read that there is an extraordinary Holocaust Memorial there so we went and spent a very sobering hour remembering. The photographs say it all.
