The outboard project continues but sadly no luck yet. Seems to be suffering from fuel starvation so we need to try replacing the fuel pump next....

Like most places in Florida we have been to, it is difficult to find somewhere to get ashore in the dinghy (a five mile round trip from Rodriguez Key), so we have moved about 6 miles north to Pennekamp State Park. 70 nautical square miles of mangrove swamps and coral reefs surrounding Largo Sound itself. The $20 / day park fee covers a mooring buoy in the calmer waters of the Sound, access to the land, hot showers and laundry facilities -yet to be explored.

Apparently Florida is becoming increasingly intolerant of a sub-class of its population living on poorly maintained or derelict boats that ruin their view. Many are 'homeless', often war veterans or psychiatric patients who have good sense enough to head south and at least remove freezing temperatures from their problems. This seems to be why the free anchorage areas do not provide dinghy docks.

Meanwhile, we went for super with Nancy and Paul again - delicious salmon and ice-cream, a treat our small freezer compartment can't manage. We also had a photo session and this is my favorite. Mr Grey and Nancy doing their yoga on the back of their boat!
