The starter motor we ordered on the 9th disappeared, both supplier and UPS blaming the other. We ordered a second one but by that time next day delivery would be on a Saturday - more money and limited destinations. Luckily they could deliver to the marina our friend David runs, about 30 miles away by road. No hire cars available, no taxis available, David couldn't bring it. Lisa's friend Clare was having a big party and couldn't help. Then, David found a fisherman who was coming from where he lives to here, who could bring it this morning. He arrived, the outboard on our dinghy failed. Nick set off to row to the rendezvous and both row locks came off. A passing dinghy gave him a tow. I have tried to attach a photo of Nick putting it in, but even the isn't working.....
The starter motor is in place and the engine is running!!!! Our overnight stop has lasted 4 days and 3 hours longer than planned. Claude and Benj have friends in Boston so we will see them tomorrow afternoon, sailing overnight again. Next stop, Boston.
