Having identified a suitable beach, we got up at 06.00 to take the boat there at high tide. If you zoom in to the map you should be able to see exactly where we were. Rather strange to drive it in to the land but it sat there happily as the water left us high and dry. It took about 3 hours for the water to recede enough and a local lobster-man appeared with coffee and muffins to help during the wait. Very kind and much appreciated by Nick who got to have them both!
Whilst out of the water, Nick put epoxy filler in the crack in the bow, whilst I scraped barnacles for the hull. The advantage of a catamaran: easy to beach; disadvantage of a catamaran: two hulls to scrape.
We also cleared out some rope, fishing line and the ubiquitous plastic bags from one of the propeller shafts. We were obviously the talk of the town as many people came to see what we up to.
At about 17.00 the water return enough for us to float off and return to the mooring buoy in the middle of the harbour.
Supper at the house again, this time with Jethro's sister Clarinda, husband Rick and daughter Isobel. Also a cousin, Boozha, husband Bill and son Alex. Boozha is the same generation as Jethro and owns half the property with the other half shared between Jethro and his 2 siblings. This time I got a tour of the upstairs. BBQ in the garden with one of the stunning sunsets that prompted its purchase all those years ago.
