26 May – Fishing Bay
Still too windy to leave so we tackled a few of the
many, many tasks - we have been sailing most days now for almost 3 months and
the work list has been growing. Today, replacing
the tyre on Nick’s bike and patching up the trampoline again (too windy to put
the new ones up).
It is a long weekend for Memorial Day here so lots of action on the water in this very protected bay. Jet-skis, power boats, kayaks, little sail boats – and parties on the shore including a wedding. Nick and Bud spent the afternoon investigating various repairs and improvements to be done on the boat over the summer – particularly a post for the wind generator…..and we saw an American Bald Eagle!! It was also a full moon and the lower atmosphere was so clear you could see the terrain through the binoculars more clearly than any of us have ever seen before.
