Slow sail in cloudy skies so no pretty blue seas on the Exuma Banks (another area of 4-5m depth). Planned to sail further but starboard engine misbehaving…. Staniels Cay is notable for its Thunderball Caves, made famous in the James Bond movie. Only accessible to divers rather than snorkellers though. We went ashore to find some bread and internet access (as ever) and found another little village that has obviously seen better days – still pretty though.

We managed to get some internet in the garden of a closed restaurant! This is Nick booking an appointment with the US Embassy in Nassau for our visa applications.

Discovered many large nurse sharks lurking under the pontoons of one of the marinas. They only eat crustacean and molluscs so not dangerous but will give you a nasty bite if molested….

The day ended with a more significant low tide than we expected – spent some of the night resting on the bottom – in 1.3m water!
