217 mls to Tenerife!  Wind right up our chuff now for last 3 days.  Quite rolly seas – just the full main up and doing 6 kts.  Genny still rather ragged down the leech where it flogged itself out in the 30 kts wind we had on Monday night.  We dropped it for repairs on Wed but repair tape on damp salty sails not too effective!  We have a spare if we need it.

We snapped the gearbox cable the other night which was a bit worrying but stripped the control box and removed the broken cable (it had broken about 3 inches from the gearbox end).  We can change gear now only by manually pulling the arm on the gearbox.  Can’t get reverse though.

Caught our first tuna yesterday but the bugger got away before we could get him aboard.  He lives to fight another day. Lucky him.
