It's just 24 hours to the off now and we are just doing the last few jobs on the list.

A couple of days ago, Sam hired an air bottle from the dive shop in Calero and got all togged up to clean the prop and check the anode.

And today, I go up the mast to put some anti-chafe foam on the crosstrees.

The weather forecast for the next few days is for light winds  so it looks like we will have to do some motoring to get clear of the Cararies and down towards the Cape Verde Islands.

Our plan had been to stay north and go over the top of Tenerife before turning South but that plan has now changed.  If we did that we will almost certainly hit headwinds on Sunday Monday due to a low pressure system out in the Atlantic.  Plan B is to stay close to the African coast and try to pick up the Trade Winds as soon as possible.

You can see from the weather map below how going west will mean south westerlies on the nose.
