Breeze kicked in around 2pm, now sailing at a wonderful 8 Knots, with Dolphins all over, a pod of about 20 or so, jumping and playing around the boat. Have the screecher sail out full, and with 8 knots of wind we are on 8.5 speed. What a great way to finish the trip. Just 24 miles to go. Will be a very sad moment to finally lower the sails for what will probably be the last time. She has been a wonderful boat and has kept us all happy and safe through some very good and very bad times, and together we have shared some of the most magical moments that life can serve up. Pass me my hankerchief L
St Augustine sounds great, and we will anchor tonight of the 17th century fort on the inlet. It will be a sunset to remember im sure.
1400 nautical miles since Guatemala and the Rio Dulce. S/V Coolrunnins final adventure has been as good as all the rest, and my thanks to Victor for taking the time out to enjoy it with me, all the way from Australia. A great shipmate and a pleasure to sail with. I hope Jason and Seb remember their experiences onboard with affection, and I hope Marisol forgives me for my reckless indulgences that sometimes come up with the odd magic floating moments!
Final position report tonight off the Castillo de San Marcos, St Augustine, Florida. With a bottle of St Francis Merlot, and a good steak (saved it speciallyJ)
