Something to consider when you cruise around here....
As we arrived fatigued at our island destination
tention mounted as we searched in vein for the clearly marked (according to all
the charts) rock pinnacle 3 ft. below the surface waiting to rip out the boats
keel. Search as we may, there was no mark, no rock and no reduction in the
tention either as we searched the entrance for the killer rock.
Despite this, we found our way into our very pretty
anchorage off a nice beach and the mystery of the missing mark was solved, as it
flashed impotently, secured 4ft. off the beach, being a very good drinks perch
for holidaying Mexicans, marking an attractive beach bar (far better use than
navigational aid).
Anyhow, we used our Kayaks to access said bar for
a sunset Margarita, prior to the heavens opening for a night of rolling
thunder and lightning (or was it the Nav mark flashing in the bar?)
