Hello everyone,

Yes still in Ixtapa, now firmly anchored.  Spent a nice day yesterday at a very pretty anchorage on an island off Ixtapa (Isla Grande), very cool place and enjoyed torrential rain with masive thunder storm last night however we used electricity, water and alcohol with abandon knowing confidently that we were headed into the International Marina of Ixtapa this morning.

With 671 slips and every amenity you can think off, we looked forward to some luxury, and what could possibly go wrong?.   Off the Marina at 9:00 AM we called on VHF to be told the Marina is closed for "a week or two" for dredging.  Long story short... and after much to and fro with the Harbour Master (a mad lesbian) it became clear that to try to make the entrance with surf and a dredger stuck in the middle of the channel would only result in more tension and Paul decided to abort the attempt.

20 years younger and without me it would have been a different story but we now sit no fuel, no water and no laundry in the same beautiful place.

The 671 slip Marina sits inticingly close around the point but our future involves a 3 hour re-position to Zihuatanejo to ferry fuel jugs one by one to try to get enough for a safe trip for Acapulco.  Seems a really charming little town and should be nice to hang out.   Who needs fuel, water, laundry and a crocodile infested Marina anyways?????   (YES, we saw some WHOPPERS swiming around in the Marina next to the boats!!!) You are warned not to walk dogs next to the dock, as the crocs enjoy a furry apetizer :)

Will keep you posted on Zihuatanejo as soon as we find the wonders and surprises of tomorrow....

Will put some of our latest pictures.....
