Going Loco down in Acapulco.

Acapulco....mmmm..

The Yacht Club, all commodores, cups and chaps with cigars. Beautiful pool and facilities and sickeningly expensive. We now rate marinas easily by toilet facilities, and these have great artwork, AC, cushioned seats, and piped music, plus a cubicle large enough to fit a small orchestra......so pretty good.

We came in here to fix some stuff for a couple of days and here we sit 5 days later. 3 days of work, a steady trail of workers and ideas, still AC not fixed (no parts), Stove now gone down and partially fixed (no parts), The gash to the rear of the boat in Manzanillo is fixed (poorly in an insipid shade of beige). Services here for repairs are poor, and prices quadruple USA for any parts that are by chance lying around on the otherwise empty shelves.

Acapulco is really beautiful viewed by night from the Yacht club at a distance. Other than that its polluted, traffic jammed to the extent of Mexico city, dirty, smelly, and absolutely minus any charm. Everyone is in your face, and the yacht club is a small isolated corner of civilization. I went down yesterday with a case of the runs that borders dysentry, and so long as weather is OK we are "outa here" tomorrow after re fuelling AM. No idea where the next fuel will be!

LONG run to Puerto Escondido ahead (2 days approx) and plan to leave by 9am.

Bye bye, Acapulco :)
