Arrived at Vivarillos after 32 hours at 2.30PM yesterday Saturday 28 May 2011.  Trip was long with great sailing in the early part and then fluky winds in the morning.   A few cargo ships around to keep things interesting  and Jason and Seb have been fantastic for the whole trip. 

Vivarillos is basically a sandspit with some palm trees in the  middle of the ocean which we anchored  around the back off, providing a great night sleep, a meal and time to recuperate. 

Rest was slightly interrupted by the arrival of a Honduran navy gunboat who shared the anchorage with us with a ragtag collection of “sailors” in various forms of dress, non of them resembling uniforms.  Far from bringing peace of mind for the first time we can remember we locked the doors and hatches, such is the reputation of Honduras and its coastline.

This morning is rainy, squally showers and we are leaving at 0645 for Roatan Bay Islands.  Another 187 miles to go with something like 3_ something hours again.  We will be glad to get there....

Llegamos a la mitad del camino!!!  Vivarillos (Honduras) un “pedacito de tierra” en la mitad del oceano que lo unico que tiene son palmeras y lo que de lejos parecia ser un muro de barro eran realmente miles de miles de trampas de langosta!   Ni bonito ni feo, lo vimos como lo que es, un lugar perfecto como para una parada tecnica de descanso, el mismo que fue interrumpido por la llegada de un bote de patrulla hondurense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.   Y los pelos se nos pararon literalmente!  Por supuesto Paul muy calmado y sin reconocerlo mucho sin embargo ya en la noche hasta el mismo cerro la puerta del bote cosa que nunca hacemos.  Mmmmmm momentos de tension que me allegro poder estar contandolos J  la verdad que por cosas escuhadas, leidas y demas no tenemos muy buenas referencias de esta gente (en general los hondurenses) y en cuanto a la armada????  Es toda una incognita????!!  Te pueden tocar Buenos y gentiles como unos H d P asi que como se imaginaran el descanso fue a medias!!!

Saldremos en unos minutos 0645 con destino a Roatan donde pensamos llegar este lunes 30 de Mayo temprano en la tarde.  Esperamos vientos mayors de los anteriores L  y segun dicen alguna “SQUALL” en el camino que solo espero nos toquen de dia y SUAVECITAS PLS!!! J
