We saw our 1st Australian built Seawind 1160 at the Miami Boat Show in 2008, and the seed was sown. Kurt, the (excellent) broker needed little effort to convince us it was the boat for us. I had always dreamed the dream, and messed about in various boats, both privately and business wise for many years.

A rollercoaster financial ride followed, closely followed by a small miracle of funding (when we managed to slip through the newer stringent rules for lending to lunatics), culminating on Oct 15th 2009 with the purchase of a 2005 model (the 1st Boat to enter the US back then). We sold our boat tour business in Playa Del Carmen on 15 Sept after 9 years of slog, and decided to start our adventure in December once the kids are out of school. The Family (1 Peruvian mum, 1 Honduran son 8yrs, and 1 little blond Mexican 6yrs) will continue to come and go from Playa until June 2010 as the boat winds its way towards the Panama Canal with some guest crew/friends/ and family along the way. The loose plan (the best kind) is to do a Caribbean circuit year #1, cross the Atlantic for year #2 to then "do the med". However for now, our beautiful new boat languishes at the dock at Marina Real growing weed (and not the recreational type), with Tim, the resident Mr Fix it, fixing in our absence. Looking forward to getting onboard and making all the usual grave mistakes on our inaugural jaunt southbound from Dec 20 onwards. Our thanks to our friends and familly for all the support over the years that has brought us to this significant crossroads.....and all of you are welcome to join us on the journey and the adventure :)
