Frigliana
As we're staying in Motril for a few days we decided to hire a car and explore some of the country side further afield. Our hosts at the marina said that Frigliana ( one of the famous Pueblo Blanco) was a beautiful town which was worth visiting. There had been wildfires in the previous days which had affected the route but after the sterling work of the water bombing planes it was clear to go.

We drove up into the mountains and managed to find an underground car park away from the searing heat in the centre of town. First stop was a tapas and beer bar to fortify us for the day ahead. It has fantastic views down the valley and away to the sea.

After our refreshments we followed a walking tour in our guide book which captured most of the important sites of the town.

The town is a beautiful mix of cobbled streets and small alley ways with shops, bars and restaurants tucked into every nook and cranny you can find. Throughout the town you can see fantastic views across the local countryside.

It was very hot so after our walking tour we had the compulsory ice cream which we had to eat quickly before it melted.

After a lovely day out we returned to Motril marina for a well earned beer and pizza at the marina cafe, suitably named Captain Morgan's.
