Well here we are again under sail enroute from Cape Verde to Grenada on Leg 2 of our ARC+ adventure. We had a pleasant few days in Cape Verde sampling a very different culture to that of Las Palmas. Very much more African than European - although we still found an Irish bar! We made more friends among our fellow sailors and although we came up empty handed at the prize giving we feel we deserve an award for the most sociable boat!

This leg of the trip is officially 2160 nautical miles (by the way a nautical mile is 1.15 statute miles) but no doubt we will cover more while we hunt down the wind which has deserted us somewhat today. Having looked at the whether forecast we are heading further south where we are assured the wind will be stronger  - but we all know weather forecasters lie like a Hong Kong Rolex! And when they are not lying they get it wrong.

After shackle school in Cape Verde where crew members learnt how to make soft shackles we now have Pilates school in the cockpit followed by sextant training before doing a sun sight later on today. Busy, busy, busy.

Here's hoping for more wind tomorrow.
