Guestbook - log entry 1

Fantastic day's sail today from Carlisle Bay to Jolly Harbour. Woke up around 6:30 for our usual nice quiet time read with a cup of tea, featuring a lovely hello from our turtle friends (a very close second to a muddy spaniel walk in the rainy pitch black……!)

After a bit of breaky and confirmation of a rough plan, Jules assisted Catherine bringing up the anchor whilst I was tasked with ‘watch what your dad does’. Turns out a complex system of backwards and forwards (gently) under the command of the anchor ladies!

A first class anchor lift lead us to open sea with a nice Easterly breeze (15 knots) and bright sunshine! Jules took the helm under the watchful eye of her Competent crew coach. We tacked, we gybed, we winched, we assessed tell tails and overall carried a gusty 5 to 7 knots throughout (many badges earned today!)

Dropped anchor in Jolly Harbour, big stock up on all the essentials (beer, wine, rum) for a few days/nights bay hopping 😊. Investigated a very nice beach bar for a few cocktails and made a very 007 exit onto the dinghy just outside the surf (some recollections may vary….)

We’ll do a full round up when our times are up here, but safe to say we’ve had an unforgettable time, lovely to come and see Cassini team 😊 unbelievably proud of them all for the massive adventure they’ve taken on!
