In Portugal...

2 notable blog items for today…..
We managed to sail in the right direction at a good speed…… for a while anyway, then the wind died again and it was back to the trusty diesel to ensure we arrived at our berth at a reasonable hour.

Secondly, and much more amusingly, whilst hoisting the mainsail, last night's rainfall that had collected in the sail bag, fell all over Catherine who was valiantly attempting to keep winching on the main sail halyard…… a shout of “Keep going… you’re not made of sugar” from Nigel at the mast, caused much merriment. So thank you Rona for that little saying, first heard by me on an Ashampstead Friday walk and now part of Cassini history!

We changed courtesy flag from Spain to Portugal, when we guessed we were over the imaginary red line in the Atlantic at lunchtime.

On the plus side we have seen lots and lots of dolphins today. Portugues dolphins score more points than Spanish ones - latter swim alongside for a bit, nothing very spectacular; Portuguese do synchronised swim, three together leap in the air and then do again the other side of the boat!

We have arrived in Povoa de Varzim which gains 5 stars from me for the takeaway chips we bought in a bar (Sailorman🤣) that we took back aboard to have with our steak supper.
