Aquadulce
Saturday morning we left Almerimar, and shock horror there was some wind…. and almost in the right direction. 16 miles to Aguadulce in a straight line and we must have done 20 ish to keep on the wind!

Catherine took a turn at the helm and was very pleased to have finally got some sailing done at her last opportunity before she flies home on Tuesday.

It was 17-24k most of the way and a reasonable swell (enough at one point that I wanted to put my life jacket on) but here in the marina it is beautifully sheltered. We are again moored stern to with a “slime line” to the bow keeping us straight. We unfortunately managed to get the pick up line wrapped around our propeller in the final manoeuvre but Jacques Cousteau (aka Simon) was soon in the water to release it. All good.

Awnings and sunshades up, dinghy hung on the side, covers on, power and water connected and it was finally beer o’clock!

The marina is immediately to the foot of the cliffs of the Sierra Nevada mountains, raw and intimidating!
4 nights here so time to explore again.
