We had made good progress under sail for the first few hours but by 3:00am on Wednesday morning the wind had died and we were making less than 3 knots.  Reluctantly the engine was turned on to allow us to make some progress.

As we entered the Gulf Stream the temperature increased noticeably and as the wind dropped to something barely noticeable and the sun shone life aboard became very hot and sticky.
