Philip's Log:
On a small yacht the horizon is estimated to be 3.5 miles away. Life on board Ocean Gem has therefore soon settled in to what is known as a 7 mile circle. Fortunately, it seems to move at the same speed as ourselves with only the occasional ship entering our space. The wind has picked up to force 5 with an increase in wave height causing us to roll somewhat. We have just crossed the Tropic of Cancer and will later reach the half way position to the Cabo Verdes.
