We had a peaceful night at French Cay, raised our anchor at around 8:15 and set off westwards around the bottom of the Caicos Banks.  There was a brisk easterly wind so we had a good sail. As we rounded the southern end of West Caicos the seas became very confused but as we turned northwards behind the island the seas flattened and we had a good sail with the wind on the beam.  West Caicos and the western side of Providenciales soon passed by, but as we approached the north western corner of Providenciales we found ourselves heading into some steep seas with lots of green water breaking over the bow of the boat.

In order to enter the marina at Turtle Cove it was necessary to pass through a narrow gap in the outer reef and follow a tight and shallow channel around various coral heads.  The marina offered a guide boat to lead us through, so we took advantage of this and found our way in without any problem.
